DANCE IS MY HEROINE

SELECTED PIECE IN:

To wish not to be you and end up being more you than ever.

Dance is my heroine explores identity, likes, daring to be, allowing oneself to fail, disconnecting for a while, and returning to ‘real’ life. It invites us to rethink the routines of occupying public space and our relationship with our own bodies. It is also a tribute to three women who have shaped the history of dance: Yvonne Rainer, Pina Bausch, and Deborah Hay. A multidisciplinary piece filled with humor and reflection in which Gómez and her alter ego Fanny De Funny declare their deep love for dance
